At Fitmeat, the highest quality is our top priority, and this has many facets. In addition to the careful rearing of our animals and the best feeding, we also pay attention to many other aspects. The unique Fitmeat Organic Pastured Goose
Why pasture-raised geese? The answer is quite clear: because we value the highest quality and species-appropriate animal husbandry. Our organic pasture-raised geese therefore grow up in the idyllic Waldviertel region on the farm of farmer Rene.
Access to feed and fresh, juicy grass is not regulated, so the geese feed themselves as needed. As Mother Nature intended, they live in a large flock and grow up in a protected community of conspecifics.
They can also splash around in the adjacent stream at will. Fortunately for our geese, the organic farmer has the water rights for this stream.
Conscious nutrition with an eye on the bigger picture: organic meat from small farmers
We make sure that even the very small farms are supported and that the animals grow up in optimal conditions.
We strictly distance ourselves from factory farming and long animal transports! We know our suppliers personally, visit them regularly and check the conditions under which the animals are kept and their welfare. We work transparently and are happy to pass on information about animal husbandry, feeding, rearing and slaughtering to you.
Origin and farming
At Fitmeat, the highest quality and species-appropriate animal husbandry are our top priorities. That is why 100% of the animals come from small farmers in Austria. The farms are located in Lower Austria, the Waldviertel, Salzburg and neighbouring Upper Austria. It is very important to us that the animals are born and raised by small farmers.
As we distance ourselves from long transport routes and factory farming, we have the animals butchered individually and respectfully by our partner butchers in the immediate vicinity of the farms (max. 15 minutes transport distance) or directly on the farm.
We also have close and personal contact with the farmers and work exclusively with butchers who know both the farmer and the animal personally.
